Personal Financial Planning SIG

As investors grapple with greater uncertainties, knowing how to make sound financial decisions becomes more challenging.  Our discussions will go beyond managing your investment portfolio to touch all aspects of developing and executing a comprehensive personal financial plan that evolves with your needs.  Whether you are a new or experienced investor, join us to gain insights, resources and strategies for a dynamic goal-oriented process that serves both you and your family. 

Topics will include:

  • Appropriate Spending: How to establish appropriate spending levels and monitor your portfolio withdrawal rates
  • Women’s’ Financial Health: Seven prescriptions for achieving financial Independence and negotiating life-transitions
  • Wealth Transition & Estate Planning Considerations: Asset preservation and titling, next generation preparation, planning for the transfer of financial decision-making and putting your final wishes in order
  • Financial Advisor Due Diligence: How to evaluate advisors and if they are selling products or providing advice that is in your best interest
  • Annuities: The “Good, the Bad and the Ugly”… from someone who does not sell them
  • Long-term strategic macro planning issues including:
  1. integrating investments with taxes, estate planning, insurance, Social Security and healthcare considerations, and
  2.  the importance of “staying the course” during periods of market volatility, etc.




This SIG is run by Karen Fadzen, MBA, CFP®, ADFA®, CDFA™, CAS®
